The problem

A luxury watch is reported stolen somewhere in the world every hour.

More than 10,000 luxury watches were reported lost or stolen worldwide in 2025 – one every hour, and a record year. Recorded losses now stand at £1.7 billion across 114,000 timepieces.

And that is only what gets reported. Around half of owners whose watch is stolen never report it at all, most of them because they assume they will never see it again. The true scale is at least double.

Reporting a theft still means police reports, manual checks and administrative middlemen – giving thieves exactly the time they need to move a watch on. By the time it is recorded, it has already changed hands.

In watch theft, delay means disappearance.

A note from the founder

Fifteen years collecting watches. One problem we all wished was solved.

A watch can take years to save for.

One moment, it’s yours.

The next, it’s stolen.

And when that happens, there’s never been a global system built to make sure everyone knows.

Until now.

I built Watch Ledger to change that.

Report a stolen watch, and every user is alerted instantly.

Before buying a watch, check it — instantly, for free.

Because when the world knows what’s stolen, stolen watches become harder to sell, harder to hide, and far less valuable to anyone.

Every watch registered strengthens the ledger.

Every user strengthens the network.

Every check makes the next transaction safer.

We’re building something bigger than an app.

We’re building the infrastructure for a safer luxury watch industry.

This took over a year to build.

Now it’s time to put it in the hands of the world.

Welcome to Watch Ledger.

– Joshua, Founder of Watch Ledger

The solution

One tap, and every buyer sees it.

We believe a stolen watch should become impossible to sell the moment it is taken.

A verified owner reports a theft with one tap – no police report, no paperwork, no approval queue. Because the watch was verified at registration, nothing stands between the owner and the alert. It reaches every Watch Ledger user in seconds.

The watch is flagged in the public Stolen Ledger with the date and location of the theft, searchable free of charge by serial number, brand or model, with the full serial always masked. Anyone who checks sees one message: this watch has been reported stolen.

Watch Ledger doesn’t chase thieves. It removes the payday.

Only the verified owner of a registered watch can report it stolen, and a stolen report is permanent – it stays on the ledger whether or not the account stays active. Every registration is checked before a watch can be flagged. Disputed flags are reviewed and can be withdrawn. Deliberate false reports mean permanent removal.

We always recommend reporting a theft to the police as well. Watch Ledger works alongside that, not instead of it.

How it works

Verified up front. Instant when it matters.

Every watch is verified when it is registered – long before anything goes wrong. Verification means checking the documents, photographs and serial number you submit, and most registrations are verified within 24–48 hours. That is what makes a one-tap, no-questions-asked alert possible.

Create your free account, then register your watch’s brand, model and serial number. Ownership is verified up front and you receive a Watch Ledger certificate – permanent proof of your registered ownership.

Create your account - Watch Owner sign up

A Watch Ledger certificate confirms a registered ownership record and its stolen status. It is not an authentication of the watch itself.

The ecosystem

More than an app. An entire ecosystem.

Every feature feeds the next – registration powers the alerts, the alerts power the ledger, and the ledger protects every buyer.

  • Stolen Ledgera live public record of every watch reported stolen by its verified owner, free for anyone to search.
  • Certified Checkcheck any serial or certificate number before you buy. A flagged watch shows as stolen to everyone who checks.

After the sale – and after the worst

Transfer it when you sell. Recover it if it’s found.

Ownership transfer

When you sell or gift a watch, remove it from your profile and the record is instantly ready for the new owner to register. One serial number, one verified owner at any time – you hand the buyer a clean, verified record, and you cannot be held responsible for what happens after a legitimate transfer.

Recovery

When a flagged watch is found, the owner submits a recovery application through the app. Watch Ledger reviews the evidence, and once the recovery is confirmed the stolen flag is withdrawn – the record is updated for everyone, everywhere, at once.

The missing infrastructure

Every high-value market has its independent check. Except watches.

Diamonds

GIA certification

Cars

HPI history check

Watches

Watch Ledger

Nobody buys a car without a history check or a diamond without a certificate – because an independent, unbiased record changed those markets forever. Watch Ledger doesn’t buy or sell watches. It verifies, records and alerts – no bias, no conflict of interest. Just the facts, so you can do your own due diligence in seconds.

Security & privacy

Privacy-first. Security-driven.

Encryption

Personal data is encrypted and never sold or shared for marketing

Identity

Owner identities are never public – you appear only as your username

Serial protection

Serial numbers are stored encrypted and never displayed in full – masked everywhere public, even on a stolen alert

Biometric

Biometric authentication used only on your device

Watch Ledger never stores biometric data.
