Terms and Conditions of Use

Effective date: 4 April 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Watch Ledger platform, mobile application, and all associated services (collectively, the "Platform") operated by Watch Ledger LLC, a limited liability company incorporated under the laws of the United Arab Emirates ("Watch Ledger", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account, accessing the Platform or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use any paid features of the Platform. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate, current and complete.

Watch Ledger reserves the right to verify your age and identity at any time. Accounts found to belong to persons under 18 will be suspended immediately and any funds paid will be refunded at our discretion.

2. Account registration

To access the Platform, you must register for a free account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must notify us immediately at support@watchledger.app if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account. Watch Ledger cannot be held liable for any loss arising from your failure to maintain account security.

3. Free and paid services

3.1 Free services

The following features are available to all registered users at no cost:

  • The Stolen Watch Ledger — real-time searchable database
  • Certificate Verification — search by Watch Ledger Reference number
  • Verified Dealer Directory — browse and view verified dealer profiles
  • Community Forum — participate in discussions
  • Dealer Story Posts — view content posted by verified dealers

3.2 Paid services

The following services require payment of the applicable subscription fee:

  • Watch Registration — register a watch on the ledger and obtain a Watch Ledger Certificate
  • Verified Dealer Listing — list your business in the Dealer Directory with story posting capability

Subscription fees are stated on the Platform at the time of purchase and are subject to change with reasonable notice. All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

4. Watch registration and certificates

4.1 Verification requirements

To register a watch on the Platform, you must provide valid government-issued identification and proof of ownership. By submitting these documents, you confirm that you are the legal owner of the watch and that all information provided is accurate and truthful.

4.2 One serial — one owner

Only one registered account may hold a serial number at any given time. When ownership of a watch is transferred — whether by sale, gift or any other means — the current registered owner must remove the watch from their profile immediately. Failure to do so may result in suspension of your account.

4.3 Certificate validity

Watch Ledger Certificates are valid for the duration of the active subscription period. Certificates do not guarantee the authenticity, condition, value or provenance of any watch beyond confirming that the watch has been registered on our platform by a verified owner.

4.4 Watch Ledger is not a valuation service

Watch Ledger does not provide watch valuations, appraisals or authentication services. The Platform does not make any representations regarding the monetary value of any registered watch. Any disputes regarding watch valuation are entirely outside the scope of this Platform and Watch Ledger accepts no liability in this regard.

5. Stolen watch alerts

5.1 Reporting responsibility

The stolen watch alert feature is provided solely for use by the verified registered owner of a watch that has genuinely been stolen. By submitting a stolen alert, you confirm under penalty of account termination and potential legal action that:

  • The watch has been stolen without your consent
  • You are the verified registered owner of the watch on the Platform
  • All information submitted in the alert is accurate to the best of your knowledge

5.2 False reports

Submitting a false, misleading or malicious stolen alert is a serious breach of these Terms. Watch Ledger reserves the right to immediately suspend or permanently terminate any account found to have submitted a false stolen report and to pursue any available legal remedies.

Watch Ledger accepts no liability for any loss, damage or reputational harm suffered by any person as a result of a false stolen alert submitted by a third party user. Users who suffer harm as a result of a false alert should contact us immediately at legal@watchledger.app.

5.3 Watch Ledger's role

Watch Ledger acts solely as a technology platform facilitating the transmission of user-generated stolen watch alerts. We do not independently verify the accuracy of stolen reports beyond the initial account and watch registration verification. We are not law enforcement and do not conduct criminal investigations.

6. Dealer verification

Businesses wishing to be listed in the Verified Dealer Directory must complete our enhanced verification process, including submission of company registration documents, government-issued identity, VAT registration where applicable and proof of trading history.

Verification does not constitute an endorsement by Watch Ledger of any dealer, their stock, their business practices or the accuracy of any content they post. Watch Ledger makes no representations or warranties regarding verified dealers and accepts no liability for any transaction between a user and a verified dealer conducted through or facilitated by the Platform.

Watch Ledger reserves the right to suspend or remove any dealer listing at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that the dealer has breached these Terms or our Dealer Verification Agreement.

7. User content

You retain ownership of any content you post on the Platform, including forum posts, story posts and images. By posting content, you grant Watch Ledger a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute and use that content in connection with the operation of the Platform.

You must not post content that is:

  • False, misleading or fraudulent
  • Defamatory, abusive, threatening or harassing
  • In breach of any third party intellectual property rights
  • Unlawful in any jurisdiction in which the Platform operates
  • Promoting counterfeit goods or stolen property

Watch Ledger reserves the right to remove any content at our sole discretion without notice.

8. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including the Watch Ledger name, logo, certificate design, software and content created by Watch Ledger, are owned by or licensed to Watch Ledger LLC. You may not use, reproduce or distribute any of our intellectual property without our prior written consent.

9. Payments, subscriptions and refunds

Payments are processed by third-party providers including Stripe and Apple Pay / Google Pay. By making a payment you agree to their respective terms and conditions.

Subscription fees are charged annually and are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you cancel your subscription, your access to paid features will continue until the end of the current billing period.

Watch Ledger reserves the right to modify subscription fees at any time with 30 days' written notice. Continued use of the Platform after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new fee.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Watch Ledger LLC, its directors, employees and agents shall not be liable for:

  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive loss arising from your use of the Platform
  • The accuracy, completeness or reliability of any stolen watch alert submitted by any user
  • Any loss arising from a false, fraudulent or mistaken stolen watch report
  • Any dispute between users including between buyers and sellers or owners and dealers
  • Any loss, theft, damage or depreciation of any watch registered on the Platform
  • Any failure of the Platform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control
  • The conduct or representations of any verified dealer listed in the directory

Watch Ledger is a technology platform. We are not a law enforcement agency, insurance provider, valuation service, authentication service or legal adviser.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Watch Ledger LLC, its officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, or any content you submit.

12. Termination

Watch Ledger reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall do so.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Arab Emirates.

For users in the European Union or United Kingdom, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may apply in addition to these Terms.

14. Changes to these Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
